Company History

We have come a long way from 1987 when Founder Paddy Callaghan purchased 8 Hydroponic units from China to grow beansprouts in his garage in Co Meath, with just four local housewives on the payroll. An engineer by background, but an entrepreneur at heart, Paddy and his management team have built the company steadily over more than 20 years, always holding the products to the principles of healthy eating and high quality. The senior management team run the company on a day to day basis, and have successfully grown the business through challenging economic conditions with the support of Irish Government Agencies such as Bord Bia and Enterprise Ireland.

Today Nature’s Best employs around 240 people and operates from a state of the art custom built factory 10 miles from the original site, in Drogheda Co Louth, just 25 minutes north of Dublin Airport.
Nature’s Best is now Ireland’s leading producer of Chilled vegetable based Convenience Foods. We sell under our own Nature’s Best brand and under major store brands in Ireland and the UK, and make products like bagged and bowl leafy salads, prepared salads (like Coleslaw, Potato, and Pasta Salads), prepared vegetables , stir fries, and some great new “on the move” products like Meal Pots and Salad Shakers.

Nature provides our top quality ingredients and we do as little as possible to interfere with them. We just combine them into delicious recipes that make healthy eating a pleasure.
